Winter is hardly the time most people are worrying about strawberries. The season has passed some time ago and the space has since been cleared away for the fall and winter garden.
Some of us that have that extra room to dedicate to these gems of the garden must prepare them for the long winter ahead.For this task I like to use hardwood mulch or bark but you can use a variety of materials that don't compost over the winter. Just remember to uncover them in the spring when new growth starts.
